As I listened to the music and watched the video, I wrote down the words and images that came to my mind, guided by the repeated ritornello. I haphazardly wrote letters and doodles in the three languages I speak, and then rearranged them in a balanced way, a process modeled after the method of creating one's own language presented by artist Pei-Ying Lin in her work "Personalized Language" for the unspeakableness project.
I wrote this piece without being present at the performance or meeting any of the band members, but the process was one of feeling their presence separated by time and space, and responding to each and every sound they played.
