When my friend asked me if I would play guitar on "Irie," I became interested and wondered, "What kind of music would it be? Ambient, harmonic, melodic, or rhythmic?" I also wondered, "What colors will I be able to hear?" I was very surprised when I discovered that Shuta's music contains all of these elements. And now I am thrilled to be able to play within the musical worldview he creates." (Jeff Parker)

While gazing at the shore and listening to the sound of the waves, I thought, "I want to make music like this," and came up with the original idea for "Irie," but it just didn't quite feel right. So I asked Jeff Parker, a guitarist I respect, to add some free-flowing guitar sounds. The two-layered guitar tones he provided gave a ripple to the surface of the music, resembling a real "inlet," and breathed life into the song. (Shuta Hasunuma)
