Keiji Haino + Shuta Hasunuma "Sound" (Tokyo performance)
Two musicians, roughly 30 years apart, who have each pursued their own approaches to music and singing, have released their collaborative album "Uta" on Wednesday, September 3rd this year. To commemorate the release of the album, a performance titled "Oto" by Keiji Haino and Shuta Hasunuma will be held at Yodobashi Church in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
Keiji Haino and Shuta Hasunuma first performed together in 2017, and the following year, Haino appeared alongside Nobukazu Takemura, Mami Kakudo, Elena Tutatchikova, and Kukangendai at the Kyoto Rohm Theatre, a music festival organized by Hasunuma. They continued to rehearse regularly in the studio, even during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in 2021, they held their first solo performance, "Uta," at Shibuya WWW amid the pandemic. After this performance, the two began work on a collaborative album. In 2023, they held a successful collaborative concert at the Tadanori Yokoo Museum of Contemporary Art, and in 2025, the collaborative album was finally completed.
It's been four years since their solo performance in 2021. Come along to this one-night-only special performance, where Keiji Haino's unique voice and Shuta Hasunuma's synthesizer will reverberate throughout the chapel.
