Tabla the World

The Kyoto Art Center's music project, the KAC Performing Arts Program / Music, effectively utilizes unique spaces that retain the feel of an elementary school, such as auditoriums and classrooms, with the aim of creating a more intimate and intimate musical experience than a music hall. This year, the program will explore the relationship between music and physicality from various angles, focusing on "musical acts" such as composing, performing, and listening, as well as "performance acts" such as "blowing" and "performing." The second program will focus on "performing" to create ethnic and urban music.
Through a collaboration between tabla player U-zhaan and musician Shuta Hasunuma, as well as a session with special guest artist/composer Nobukazu Takemura, the tabla, known as "the world's most difficult percussion instrument" and "the world's most expressive percussion instrument," will bring out even more of its charm.
