Yoshitoshi Shinomiya, who has worked as a Japanese painter and has also participated in popular films such as "Your Name" (directed by Makoto Shinkai) and "In This Corner of the World" (directed by Sunao Katabuchi), has released the original soundtrack for his first feature-length animated film, "The Day the Flowers Bloom."
All songs, including the theme song "Aoba -Movie Ver.-" sung by imase, were produced by Shuta Hasunuma.
The album consists of 15 tracks, featuring pop and familiar piano tunes, elegant and beautiful strings and synthesizer sounds, and emotional sounds that vibrate between the lines of minimalist sounds, all of which are made to fit the emotions of the characters and the beautiful scenery. Each cut resonates with the fresh, painting-like images and delicate emotions, making it a comfortable album with a sense of color.
The theme song "Aoba -Movie Ver.-" was written and composed by imase, and in collaboration with Shuta Hasunuma, who has taken over the soundtrack's worldview, it has become a new masterpiece that brings out a previously unseen side of imase. The performance is by Shuta Ishizuka (Gt, Ba) and Seigen Tokuzawa (Vc), who have also participated in Shuta Hasunuma's past works, joined by Aya Ito (1st Vn) and Miho Chiyuki (2nd Vn), and the arrangement gives the film a pleasant afterglow, and at the same time, it is an indispensable song for this soundtrack.
The recording engineer was Toshihiko Kasai, the mixing engineer was Matt Colton, and the jacket was designed by Seri Tanaka.
